So... I saw these cute cushions on a website, can't remember which one now...
But they were waaay to expensive, so I thought I'd get crafty and make my own. I went to Stitcherydo (their website wasn't working when I posted this, hope it's fixed soon!) and got some embroidery thread, an embroidery hoop, and some burlap. I got half a meter and this will make two of the cushions shown. I also got some thick-ish cheap cord from before, so I used that.
Here's the work in progress:
As you can see it's just a case of overstitching a ridiculous number of times and making the pattern as you go. I found the hoop was only helpful for the first bit as obviously the cord won't go through the hoop frame, but it helped me when I was starting out. I would recommend getting 3-4 embroidery thread packs. My love one only needed three, but the 'faith' cushion I'm still working on need four (that's why it's not finished yet!!).
It was a little time consuming, but a nice quiet activity for when my little angel is sleeping, and very therapeutic!
Here's the finished product up close:
And here's my second cushion - finally finished!!
The love one is my preferred one, but it's ok.
